We should now have an idea of what Magick is - now we want to use Magick. This is were spells come in. You should only use spells written for your coven or spells you have written yourself. You may find in a book a spell you want to use - then adapt it to yourself - you may not change it very much - but when you are through adapting it, you will understand it and what it is "really" going to do.
WARNING: NEVER, EVER, ASK FOR SPELLS OFF THE INTERNET!!!! You have no idea who the person is who wrote it and what purpose he might have behind it. Also they know nothing about you. And if you can not write the spell yourself - you should not be doing it (unless you are part of a coven performing the spell) If you have trouble writing spells and you are in a Coven - ask for help form someone in the Coven. Like everything there are exceptions to the rule, but be very careful with any spell you didn't write. Make sure you understand it. Beware of wordy spells, as they can hide true meaning.
A good example of this is on the Internet I saw a really pretty protection spell. It was very long and had a lot of pretty words in it. What the spell was, was a spell in which you would bind yourself from using Magick. So in a way it could be looked upon as a protection spell, but the results would not be what the person performing it wanted.
DISCUSSION:
What is the proper use of Magick
QUESTIONS:
1. What is a spell?
2. What are the best spells?
3. What book by Crowley that many considered an indispensable handbook of Magick?
PROJECT:
Cast a circle and work with energy.
NOTE: We have been talking about spells, but how to you write a spell. It is really not that hard to do. First what do you want it to do. Now make sure you are in reality not a fantasy in what you want to do. Is there a need? Then think of visual that will help (Candles, stones, herbs, incense etc.) Think of words that will have meaning for it. Now before writing the spell write how to set up the alter and if you need to add anything to casting the circle for the spell. Now you need to put the words together. You will notice that there is a lot about spells rhyming - use this information in constructing you spell - now by rhyming it means you need to be able to say the spell with rhythm - like a chant.
Before making a spell look at some of the spells in books. They don’t have be spells for what you want. It is to get an idea of what you want to say and how to say it.
Always remember the rede and the Three Fold Law when doing a spell. When first starting keep them simple and track them, see if they work. Now we have a money spell that has always worked, but…… not always the way we had hoped for. They are best to do as a finding a job spell - so you are not asking for money form the Gods, but for a way to make money. But with the spell we have had everyone in a circle benefit by it. BUT some would find a penny on the ground, others would win a scratch off lottery for a $1.00 - but the person who was looking for a job - would find one within 72 hours of doing the spell. (Now you must actively look for work for it to work - we did it once and the person who we did it for had put in an application at only one place - they were upset that they didn’t hear back that the spell didn’t work - we told his to go out and look for others jobs, she got home after doing this and said the one place he wanted had already hired someone - the phone rang and it was the company, they felt he was a better choice and he got the job.
