In the craft there are two very different uses for herbs. One is Magick and the other for healing. Make sure you don’t get them mixed up, as some of the herbs used for Magick can be deadly if ingested. There are several really fine books on the market for both uses. And should be in your library. Anything you are planning on using should be in your Book of Shadows
We have a booklet on herbs written by Lady Aurora Leilani. Lady Aurora Leilani was the first Maiden of Dragon Palm Circle when we started in Florida, she was also our herbalist. She gave several workshops when we were there on herbs.
Lady Aurora’s Herb booklet is in two parts. .

NOTE: A must have herb tool is a mortar and pestle. This is used for grinding herbs and mixing several together. You can find them many different places and they start at under $10 at both Amazon and Walmart.
Getting herbs is very easy. Most supermarkets have dried herbs and fresh herbs (sometime growing and alive) Some of the more unusual and bulk you may need to go to health food store that carries bulk herbs - and for the ones you can’t eat - New Age/Witch store or garden shop that sell live plants. Most herbs are very easy to grow either indoors or outdoors.
NOTE: Some of the things listed with herbs not real herbs - they can be saps, barks, roots, flowers. Some of these items can be much harder to find. Pagan festivals are good for finding some of these harder to find items. Anything you are going to ingest you should get at the Supermarket or Health Food store, unless you know the owner of the shop and they can tell you where the herbs are from. (Some small shops grow their own herbs)
