For this weeks class you will need a deck of Tarot cards. The Tarot deck is made up of 78 cards. 56 cards are in the minor Arcana which is similar to a regular deck of cards except that the Jack is divided into the Page and Knight and instead of hearts, Spades, Diamonds, and clubs we have Pentacles, Cups, Wands and Swords. Joining the minor Arcana is Major Arcana, made up of 22 “Face” cards. The cards are laid out in what is called a spread for the reading. There are many different types of spreads, depending on what type of reading you are going to do. Now we hope in the future we will be adding to this page either a video or powerpoint slide show by Lady Sky.
Now with your deck of cards their should be either a book or sheet with what the cards mean. Also showing some different types of spreads. Do some reading of yourself. Make sure you present a question before you start. The first one you do, make sure you look up the meanings of each card and what they mean where they are in the spread.
Once you have done a few spreads - do one and write down what you feel it means without looking up the meanings. Then go back and write down what the meaning say. Compare the two. If you have any questions you can email us or post on the group.
